It is a way to protect our computers, but also to prevent our personal information from being leaked online.

A Software Tool for the Study of Epilepsy
Epilepsy, sometimes known as seizure disorder, is a brain disorder that affects individuals of all ages. Although it can be seen as a rare disease, there are an estimated 50 million people affected by epilepsy worldwide. In developing countries, such as Guatemala, the diagnosis and treatment of this disease is difficult, due to cultural and socioeconomic factors. Furthermore, the study of epilepsy is limited to a small percentage of neurologists.

Guatemalan Marie André Destarac has overcome many barriers and, despite having everything against her, she has stood out in the world of electronics and robotics. In the Month of Women’s History, we interviewed this pioneer to get to know her journey.

When you connect to the Internet, your device is assigned a unique number, world wide, to identify it. All websites have an IP address too.
Since the 1980s, different organizations have worked in telemedicine with limited development due to the lack of knowledge of the population and the low connectivity in the region. While COVID-19 cases are increasing in Latin America, this tool helps protect the most vulnerable and reduce the load of hospitals.
